USYCA Looking For National Development Officers To Grow Cricket

United States Youth Cricket Association
The United States Youth Cricket Association is seeking to engage National Development Officers to work in the highly successful and award-winning USYCA Schools Program. These Officers will join the dozens of other USYCA National Development Officers who have been working tirelessly across the country to grow cricket in their local communities for many years, usually with little recognition, and always without asking for a paycheck.

United States Youth Cricket Association are looking for individuals to help promote the game in schools.

One of USYCA’s key objectives, which it has been consistently addressing by donating over 1,500 cricket sets and free instruction since 2010, is to increase junior participation and playing numbers across the United States.

The National Development Officer will seek to sustainably grow participation in the United States, with a particular focus on developing the game in elementary and middle schools and then creating local junior cricket programs for the children to join. This specific pathway has demonstrated and proven success, as evidenced by the results of the Maryland Youth Cricket Association.

Key Responsibilities:
o Recruiting schools to be a part of USYCA Schools Program
o Delivering Free USYCA cricket sets and instruction to teachers, parents and volunteers
o Working with schools, youth sports organizations and local recreation departments to initiate new community youth cricket programs
o Developing and maintaining strong relationships with schools, facilities, parents, volunteers and other cricket stakeholders
o Provide feedback on the delivery of the program
o Having fun while sharing love of cricket with children

Requirements for a successful candidate include:
o Applicants must be USA based
o Cricket coaching experience preferable, but not required
o Background check upon acceptance
o Enough verbal and interpersonal communication skills to express your love for cricket
o Willingness to deliver cricket programs to children, teachers and volunteers
o Enthusiastic and ready to have fun
o Willing to spread the love of cricket among American children, without requiring compensation in return

Conditions of employment:
o Development Officers will be locally based on a strictly volunteer basis
o Must be available to share love of cricket during school hours, after-school hours and weekends

If you meet the requirements and feel you can thrive in this role, please don’t waste your time (and ours) emailing a silly cover letter outlining what you believe to be the four most critical elements to delivering a successful cricket program for children aged 6-13 years old, and we certainly don’t need to see a professional resume. This is about having fun and loving cricket, not brain surgery!
