It was a runs fest in the Metropolitan Cricket League Div.1 game between Villagers Cricket Club vs Pioneer Cricket Club, at Gateway Park, Brooklyn. Villagers Cricket Club won the toss and batted first on a bright and sunny day, compiling an imposing total of 501 for the loss of 8 wickets in 40 Overs, which is a new league record.

In the 1st 15 overs, the score board read 185 for 1 and after 25 overs it was 285 for 3.
There were a total of 46 fours and 22 sixes hit during Villagers innings. Bowling for Pioneer, Roy Tulley 8 overs for 120 runs, K. Pollack 8 overs 95 runs and 1 wicket, Soumon Khan 8 overs 66 runs and 3 wickets, Frank Hussey 5 overs 72 runs and 2 wickets, McLean Sarrabo 8 overs 83 runs and 1 wicket, and Author Smith Capt. 3 overs for 56 runs.

Villagers CC is the Metro League’s Div. 1 2009 runner-up champion. Pioneer was Div.2 champion, and promoted to Div.1 for 2010.
