Warriors Destroyed The Soldiers

Soldier Boys won the toss and decided to bat first after a long team meeting, this they found out later was a big mistake considering the rain that was to fall later in the day. The Young Warriors’ bowlers Shuresh Persaud and A. Gobin were too good for the Soldiers and with wicket falling in almost every over.
The first seven wickets went down by clean bowled. Soldier Boys made a mere 67 runs all out in 16.3 overs with Roy top scoring with 24 runs and good supporting knock from Billy with 14 runs.
A. Gobin took 4 wickets for 23 runs, Shuresh Persaud had 3 wickets for 25 runs and V. Beresford chips in with 2 wickets for 4 runs.
Young Warriors openers made 51 runs without loss in 12 overs before Dave Boodram went for the kill and was caught at long on for 18 runs and next to go was C. Roopnarine for a top score of 27 runs.
Young Warriors made 68 runs for two wickets in 14 overs. Vishnu from Soldier Boys got both wickets for 22 runs. The Young Warriors team is hearing a ringing of another 2011 championship in the air, go Young Warriors.
Flasherz Extinguished The Wildfire

On a cloudy and rain threatening to fall anytime at Livonia Park, Flasherz knew that they had to finish the game early and they did in fine style against Wildfire in the quarter finals. Wildfire won the toss and electing to bat, opening the bowling for Flasherz was Vikram and C. Sookwah.
Vikram struck on the fourth ball in the first over with a bouncer which the batsman tried to pull for a boundary but could only find the safe hands of Nayal Singh at backward square. C. Sookwah struck in the 4th over with a beautiful delivery that had the Wildfire batsman frozen at his crease and picking out the middle stump.
Vikram struck twice in the 7th over with a beautiful over the head and back hand catch from Dharampaul Singh and caught and bowl. Vikram struck yet again in the 9th over. Wildfire did not know what was going on at this point. In the 11th over in come the youngest of the Singh brothers (Vickash Singh) hitting the stumps to the boundary line on his first deliver giving Flasherz their 6th wicket.
In the 12th over with a combination of the two Singh’s brothers Nayal Sing and Vickash Singh Flashers picked up their 7th Wicket with a run out. Dharampaul Singh was brought into the attack and he removed the 8 wicket in the 13th over putting Wildfire in a state of despair.
At the half time break Wildfire where 62 for the loss of 8 wickets. Wildfire last pair (playing one player short) hang on for an additional 3.4 over’s and put on 10 additional runs but they were no match for Dharampaul Singh who rooted out the final batman stump. Wildfire all out for 72, bowling for Flasherz Vikram 6-0-4-22, C. Sookwah 5-0-1-15, Vickash Singh 4-0-1-6 and Dharampaul Singh 3.4-0-2-4.
Opening the batting for Flashers were Randy Narayan and Captain Rocco. The opening pair started out blistering the Wildfire bowlers but Rocco found the fielder at long off and fell for 4 runs, the score 24 for the loss of 1 wicket.
In walk Nayal Singh and he start placing the ball around the ground turning over the strike over to Randy Narayan who just kept finding the boundary with ease. In the end Randy top score with a bashing 37 not out and Flasherz stormed into the Semi Final for the second time this year. Keep up the good work guys, long road ahead.
