Two Eastern Long Island teams Long Island United and East Side Warriors never ending all year long bragging rights up for grabs, and the stage was set for an interesting matchup. East Side Warriors won the toss and used the windy conditions perfectly. Sabeeh Rafik and Ahson Qadeer swung the ball viciously in their opening spell, and Kashif Naseem was waiting in the wings to spring 5 for 20 from his 8 to help skittle Long Island United for 89.
Long Island United was in a do or die situation and fought back gallantly with 16 year old Anwer Khan leading the way with 5 wickets for 18 runs off his 8 overs, and shattered the stumps on four occasions.
