Led by a sterling performance by veteran spinner Clive Garrison, who took 4 wickets for 7 runs, including a hat-trick, West Indian Social Club (WISC) crushed Riverside Cricket Club in the finals of the Connecticut Cricket League’s T20 competition which was held at Keney Park on Sunday, September 27.

Batting first Riverside, who comfortably made it to the finals, failed to live up to expectations and was bundled out for 86 runs in 19.4 overs. Except for middle-order batsman A. Persaud, who made 38, K. Persaud, 12, and Salin Satar, 11, who put up a little bit of resistance, the Riverside batsmen began their miserable state of performance right from the start of the innings as their openers were only able to score five runs in first four overs.

Omar Raynor, 2 for 12, Dwayne Henry, 1 for 8 and Omar Watson, 1 for 18, were the other wicket takers for WISC.

In their turn at the crease, WISC were able to get the runs without losing a wicket. Openers Nick Hay, 42, and Nick Blackwood, 39, batting at an even pace, knocked off the runs in 11.5 overs.
