WICB Regional Under 19
The Windward Islands and the ICC Americas played to a thrilling tie in Round III. The Windward Islands won the toss and opted to bat first and amassed 209 from their 50 overs. Out-of-form batsman, Gidron Pope, managed to glimpse some form hitting 58 from 65 balls. His stay at the crease lasted 82 minutes as he stroked five fours.
Gian Benjamin, who has also been playing well, scored 44 runs while Taryck Gabriel chipped in with 36. Farhan Malik (31-3) and Stephan Rajasingham (55-2) were the ICC Americas’ best bowlers. The far-away visitors needed 210 runs to pick up their second straight win.
They endured a similar innings to that of the Windward Islands, and coincidentally, ended up on the same score. Tre Manders hit a patient 69 from 98 balls as he occupied the crease for well over two hours. He stroked five fours and a six while he was there. There was also a half century for Talha Shaikh, who hit 53 from 77 balls. His stay at the crease was also quite lengthy, staying some 102 minutes out in the middle. He struck six fours and a six.
Both Shaikh and Manders added 120 runs for the fourth wicket while Farhan Malik chipped in with 21. They couldn’t quite get their team over the line though. Ray Jordan took three wickets for the Windwards while Preston Mc Sween and Taryck Gabriel shared four wickets evenly.

Canadian Pace Duo Bowl ICC Americas To Victory
Canadian pace bowlers Stephan Rajasingam and Abrash Khan took three wickets apiece as ICC Americas picked up their first win of the Regional U19 One Day Tournament in St. Kitts, defeating Leewards by three wickets.
Rajasingam picked up three wickets in his opening burst as Leewards were reduced to 23-4 with Khan picking up the other wicket before returning at the end to collect two more. The early rain reduced the match to a 27 over contest and Leewards never really got into top gear after the loss of their early wickets. Americas were energetic in the field and they worked hard to restrict the Leewards to a total of 113 for 7.
The Americas reply got off to a flying start with Sudeepta Aurka and Shakeel Ahmad both hitting superb boundaries in the opening two overs, Ahmad hit the shot of the day with a huge six over cover off the opening bowler. With the score at 88 for 2 Americas looked to be cruising to victory but when Taylor fell to a poor shot, caught at deep midwicket, the jitters set in but in the end they got over the line with 3 wickets to spare. Captain Taylor top scored with 34 but it was the bowling earlier in the day that was the difference in the game.
