New York Region
The Cricket Committee of the New York Cricket Region has announced that there will be a practice and evaluation session at Gateway Park in Brooklyn on Saturday, June 29, 2013 for Women cricketers. The program will start at 11:00 am and everyone is asked to be at the ground by 10:30 am.
The session will include tests of cricket skills, speed, and the technical aspects of the game. There will be bowling tests for medium and spinners. The batsmen will be evaluated against medium pace and spin bowling. There will also be a focus on catching, ground fielding and throwing.
One of the objectives of the program is to select four franchise teams who will participate in the New York Region Elite Women’s Tournament for a Premier Trophy and various awards.
Each franchise team will be administered by a management and coaching team. The tournament is also open to Women cricketers from the Atlantic and Northeast Regions.
