Yashaaditi Teki

Yashaaditi Teki is an emerging all-rounder from the Bay Area, California, with a right-arm medium-pace bowling style and a left-handed batting stance; she has represented the USA Women’s team in both U19 and senior women’s international tournaments.

Yashaaditi’s journey in cricket began at the young age of 13 under the watchful guidance of her father, a coach. He recognized her potential and encouraged her to pick up the bat and ball.

With her family’s unwavering support, she embarked on her journey in cricket with passion and dedication. Her cricketing abilities were first recognized when she participated in USA Cricket’s women’s domestic pathway competition in 2021, where she played multiple domestic games locally and advanced into the National Championship stage, winning the title for the Western Conference team. The contest marked a significant milestone in her cricketing career. It resulted in her selection for USA Cricket’s first-ever U19 Women’s team that embarked on a historic international tour to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The team engaged in a competitive T20 series against the Windward Islands, where the USA Women’s team secured victory.

A memorable moment from that tour was when Yashaaditi took a sharp catch at mid-wicket during her first game. Her awareness of the demands of the game caused her to focus on her fitness and fielding, and to aid in muscle recovery, she incorporated swimming into her routine and prioritized having a good sleep schedule to better her match preparation.

The momentum continued from the U19s as Yashaaditi transitioned in 2022 to the USA Women’s Senior team during the ICC Women’s Cricket Global qualifiers in the UAE. During that tournament, she had the privilege of meeting her idol, Mignon du Preez, a South African national women’s cricketer who shared valuable insights on developing one’s T20 game skills and mental approach.

Beyond her contributions as a player, Yashaaditi is actively involved in USA Cricket’s FutureShapers Women’s internship program. The initiative allowed her to promote the sport’s growth by engaging with key USA players on and off the field, discussing the ongoing developments of women’s and girls’ cricket locally and nationally.

Her passion for spreading the triumphs of cricket within the community continues as her involvement extends to covering the recent successes of the USA Women’s team at the Americas Qualifiers.

As Yashaaditi witnesses the exponential growth of women’s and girls’ cricket, she envisions a future where cricket becomes a mainstream sport in the U.S. With the recent inclusion of cricket in the LA 2028 Olympics, she sees this opportunity as a beacon of light for her, as it paves a path for cricket to become a highly competitive sport cherished across all communities within the United States.
