USA Global Cricket Academy
The USA Global Cricket Academy (USAGCA), a registered 501(c)3 not-or-profit organization in the USA, and winner of the 2003 ICC Global Award for Best Junior Development Initiative, confirmed an eight-day Spring Break schedule for their 2nd International tour of Guyana during March 28 – April 6, 2015.
The USAGCA is resuming its international youth cricket tour program following its successful 2014-15 Grand Tour of India for U-17 and U-19 teams during the recent Christmas Break. The Academy continues to expand with an additional youth team added to tour Guyana. The U-18, U-15 and U-13 teams are scheduled to play six games of 40 to 50 overs each, while in Guyana.
Over the years USA Cricket Academy with the vision “BUILDING GREAT CRICKET PROFESSIONALS” has established a long and distinguished association with many USA junior cricket team tours, such as the U-13 team tour to Barbados in 2003, four U-18 team tours to Trinidad, U-15 and U-19 team tours to Wales, four U-19 team tours to the Sir Garfield Sobers Tournament in Barbados, and an U-18 team tour to India and Sri Lanka during 2006.
The 2015 squad scheduled for the tour of Guyana is in the final stages of preparation under highly qualified national coaches. A group of more than 45 official members of the USA Cricket Academy including many elite players, will be joined by six well-known and experienced coaches along with two management administrators, are scheduled to complete the entire tour. Many parents are expected to join the tour to support their loved ones and the team.
The USA Cricket Academy management staff issued a combined statement – “This tour will provide a great chance and the best opportunities for our players to play on the best pitches, so as to get international cricket experience. We expect a strong challenge from the most talented local players and teams.
The tour will help our elite players to gain more confidence with vital experience, as many of the players have played National, ICC Americas and International cricket. This tour will provide the right platform for all players to become professional and to stay on top for all future cricket events in USA.”
