Youthful Meten-Meer-Zorg To Battle With Veteran Everest/ACS

The final is all set for Sunday between the powerful and experienced Everest/ACS and youthful Meten-Meer-Zorg (MMZ) cricket team. The game is schedule for September 11, 2011, 12 noon at the famous (Cage) at Baisley Park. This is the first time that Meten-Meer-Zorg will be in the 40 overs final in their three years competing in the league.
Last year they lost to Everest/ACS in the T/20 finals and were knocked out in the semi final by the same opponent. This year the team is hoping they can create an upset, however it will be a tough task playing one of the most experienced team in this league which in the past has dominated.
This game means a lot for these boys who have played very tough cricket all season, they have won 8 preliminary games lost 2, tied 2 and eventually finished second with 46 points.
The team is made up of several youths with the average age of 20. The team will be led by former Guyana under-19 player Ajaz Asgarally, the batting will be led by the talented USA player Azurdeen Mohammed, Mr. dependable Deonauth Baksh, 16 year old Trevis Ross and USA under 19 player Amarnauth Persaud .In the bowling department it will be spearheaded by Shahid Bilal, Zaaid Majeed, Rocky Kowhai and Saumail Gandhi.
