Here comes the MAQ T20 New England Cricket Tournament 2010, May 29 – 31, 2010 at Roberts Field in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

Proudly wearing their RED, WHITE and BLUES, the best cricket players in the North East Region will compete in this weekend’s power-packed cricket matches during the Second  Annual  MAQ T20  New England  Cricket Tournament  2010.

While the Boston Celtics campaign for yet another NBA Title, four All-Star cricket teams will compete for the Championship Trophy and an invitation to the 2010 U.S. Cricket Open.  The Tournament Title Sponsor, T20 Energy Drink, has set the stage for a thrilling Memorial Day Weekend of first class cricket. Cricket Council USA, a sports and entertainment management company, will award The Championship Trophy and a $5000 prize check to the winning team and a $2000 prize check to the runner-up.

Tournament Chairman, Joseph Buffong, is excited about the level of competition.   Southern Connecticut Cricket Association’s President, Leighton Greenidge, is confident his team will repeat as tournament champions.   Manas Sahu, President of the historic Massachusetts State Cricket League, believes his players will have hometown advantage.  And Taj Khadar, President of the Connecticut Cricket League,  is certain his players will be up to the task.  Despite their loyalties, these organizers have been working hard to insure this weekend’s cricket matches will be a resounding success.

On Friday evening, May 28th, Cricket Council USA and T20 Energy Drink  will honor the competing teams and attending dignitaries during the Golden Circle Welcome Reception at the Westgate Hotel, 195 Westgate Drive, Brockton, MA..  The guest speaker will the Honorary Council to Grenada, Carol L. Leggett. .  On Saturday, Mr. Paul McCarthy of Boston’s Parks and Recreation Department will have the honor of throwing out the first ball of the Second Annual MAQ T20 New England Cricket Tournament, which has established itself as one of the major regional qualifiers for the 2010 United States Cricket Open, being hosted by Cricket Council USA later this year.
