Australia reached the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final with an emphatic eight-wicket victory over the West Indies at The Oval, where Beth Mooney’s unbeaten half-century capped a clinical all-round performance after the spinners restricted the Caribbean side to 125 for seven.

Australia booked their place in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final with a commanding eight-wicket victory over the West Indies at The Oval, chasing down 126 in just 13 overs after their spin attack dismantled the Caribbean batting line-up.

Beth Mooney anchored the chase with a composed 61 not out from 39 balls, while Ashleigh Gardner struck an unbeaten 35 from 20 deliveries as Australia completed the target with seven overs to spare. The victory sends Australia into Sunday's final at Lord's, where they will meet either England or South Africa.

Opting to bowl after winning the toss, Australia quickly justified the decision despite a positive start from West Indies captain Hayley Matthews. Matthews struck boundaries off Lucy Hamilton, Kim Garth and Sophie Molineux but found it increasingly difficult to rotate the strike as Australia's disciplined attack squeezed the scoring rate.

The West Indies reached 35 without loss at the end of the powerplay before Australia's spinners turned the match decisively. Georgia Wareham struck with her first delivery, bowling Matthews for 30 as the skipper attempted an ambitious paddle sweep. Sophie Molineux then removed Qiana Joseph for 16 after a scratchy innings, shifting the momentum firmly Australia's way.

Ashleigh Gardner tightened Australia's grip with a superb spell, dismissing both Stafanie Taylor and Jahzara Claxton for ducks to reduce the West Indies to 59 for four. Chinelle Henry added just 10 before Annabel Sutherland produced a fine running catch at long-on to hand Molineux her second wicket.

With wickets falling regularly, Shemaine Campbelle offered brief resistance with 22 before holing out to Ellyse Perry off Wareham. The innings was revived only by Deandra Dottin, who showed remarkable resilience after earlier requiring medical attention following the pre-match anthems. The experienced all-rounder recovered to finish unbeaten on 26 and shared a valuable 42-run partnership with Jannillea Glasgow, helping the West Indies recover to 125 for seven.

Australia's chase began at a blistering pace as Georgia Voll launched Chinelle Henry for a six before adding consecutive boundaries in the same over. Henry responded by bowling Voll for 16, while Matthews trapped Phoebe Litchfield lbw after a successful review to leave Australia at 43 for two.

Any hopes of a West Indies fightback quickly disappeared as Mooney took control. The left-hander punished Jahzara Claxton's first over of the tournament for 18 runs before bringing up her half-century from just 29 balls, her second fifty of the competition.

Gardner maintained the momentum after Ellyse Perry retired hurt on two, striking a straight six off Afy Fletcher and finding regular boundaries as the pair combined in an unbeaten stand that carried Australia comfortably to victory. Gardner sealed the result with a boundary to complete another dominant Australian performance.

The win extended Australia's remarkable record against the West Indies, marking their 10th victory in the last 11 meetings and a sixth triumph in seven Women's T20 World Cup encounters. More importantly, it continued Australia's outstanding consistency on the tournament's biggest stage, with an eighth semi-final victory in 10 editions keeping them firmly on course for another global title as they head to Lord's.
