Zahid Changah anchored the chase with an unbeaten 34, while captain Kyle Kowlessar made an impact with both bat and ball to guide his side to a second successive victory.

After winning the toss, Next Gen XI elected to field and quickly justified the decision with a collective bowling display that never allowed NY Royals to establish momentum. The Royals were dismissed for 91 in 22.3 overs, with no batter able to convert a start into a substantial innings.

Nikki Singh top-scored with 16 from 20 deliveries, while Daljit Johal contributed 14 and Micky Patteria added 12. Those were the only notable contributions in an innings dominated by disciplined line and length from the Next Gen XI attack. Regular wickets ensured NY Royals were unable to build meaningful partnerships, leaving them with a below-par total.

Kowlessar led from the front with an economical spell of 2 for 8 from three overs, applying early pressure and removing key batters. Raj Balgobin matched that effort with figures of 2 for 13 from his three overs, while veteran Darrius Andrew provided control through the middle overs, finishing with 2 for 28 from five overs. The trio accounted for six wickets between them as Next Gen XI maintained control throughout the innings.

Faced with a modest target, Next Gen XI approached the chase positively and rarely looked troubled. Zahid Changah ensured there were no late complications, finishing unbeaten on 34 and striking the winning runs to complete the chase with nine overs to spare.

Captain Kowlessar capped an impressive all-round performance by contributing 21 runs at the top of the order before Moien Khan added another 21 to keep the scoring rate well ahead of the required pace. Although three wickets fell during the pursuit, the target never appeared beyond reach as Next Gen XI maintained control from the outset.

The comprehensive victory gives Next Gen XI consecutive wins after a difficult start to their campaign and strengthens their position in the race for the playoffs. The result moves them into fourth place in the NYNCL Sunday Morning Tropix Division standings, behind Yuslim CC, Demroc XI and unbeaten leaders Ansari CC.

With their bowlers producing another disciplined display and the batting unit chasing efficiently, Next Gen XI have revived their postseason ambitions heading into the closing stages of the league campaign.
