NY Tri-State Youth Dev defeated Antigua Schools by six wickets in the 2026 Sir Garfield Sobers International Under-19 Cricket Tournament after captain Ajay Prithiviraj's four-wicket haul set up a comfortable chase at the Isolation Ground in Bridgetown on July 14.

Prithiviraj returned outstanding figures of 4 for 6 from 4.3 overs, helping dismiss Antigua Schools for 101 in 26.3 overs before wicketkeeper-batter Laksh Warty anchored the chase with an unbeaten 36 off 49 balls as NY Tri-State Youth Dev reached 106 for 4 in 18.3 overs.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Antigua Schools struggled to establish momentum against a disciplined bowling attack. Captain Hosea Roberts top-scored with 22 from 32 deliveries, while Isiah Harris added 12, Ondra Peters contributed 11, and Keno Goodwin made 10. However, none of the batters converted their starts into a substantial innings as wickets fell at regular intervals.

Goodwin and Roberts shared 25 for the opening wicket before the innings lost direction. Roberts' dismissal at 35 for 2 triggered a middle-order collapse, with Antigua slipping from 71 for 4 to 87 for 8 in the space of just over nine overs. Only Leonardo Ducreuy's unbeaten 7 and Shawn Harris' late 4 pushed the total into three figures. The innings was also aided by 19 extras, including 16 wides.

Prithiviraj was the chief architect of the collapse, removing Nazair Williams, Isiah Harris, William Pitman, and Anthony Pierre while conceding only six runs. Arun Gainda maintained tight control with 1 for 13 from six overs, including two maidens, while Raghav Prabhune, Antoni Waterman, Emmanuel Lewis, and Hemesh Ramphal claimed one wicket apiece to complete an impressive all-round bowling performance.

Chasing 102, NY Tri-State Youth Dev approached the target steadily despite losing opener Aarav Chopra for 22 after he shared a 55-run opening partnership with Warty. Chopra struck two boundaries before Anthony Pierre made the breakthrough in the 11th over.

Warty then combined with Emmanuel Lewis, who scored a brisk 16 from 15 balls, to keep the chase on course. Antigua Schools briefly raised hopes with quick wickets from Isiah Harris, who dismissed both Prithiviraj and Vir Ajmera to finish with 2 for 13, but the target was never out of reach. Warty remained composed throughout, striking one four and one six before Raghav Prabhune finished the chase with an unbeaten 4, sealing victory with nine overs and six wickets to spare. The visitors also benefited from 24 extras, including 17 wides.

The victory gives NY Tri-State Youth Dev valuable points in the league stage of the 2026 Sir Garfield Sobers International Under-19 Cricket Tournament, strengthening their position in the race for the knockout rounds. Antigua Schools, meanwhile, will need improved batting consistency in their remaining fixtures to stay in contention.
