BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (July 20, 2026) β€” NY Tri-State Youth Dev registered a commanding nine-wicket victory over Presentation College T&T in a league match of the 2026 Sir Garfield Sobers International Under-19 Cricket Tournament, with Raghav Prabhune's five-wicket haul and Vir Ajmera's unbeaten 71 leading the way at Rices, Bridgetown.

After electing to field, NY Tri-State Youth Dev dismissed Presentation College for 146 in 27.2 overs before chasing down the target with ease, reaching 149 for 1 in just 19 overs.
Raghav Prabhune starred with figures of 5 for 17, setting up NY Tri-State Youth Dev's emphatic nine-wicket victory over previously unbeaten Presentation College T&T.

The result was built on a disciplined bowling display, spearheaded by Prabhune, who tore through the top order to return outstanding figures of 5 for 17 from six overs. His opening spell left Presentation College reeling at 28 for 5 inside seven overs, putting the innings under pressure from the outset.

Prabhune removed Aaron Mohammed, Jerome Reyad, Jamaal Khan, Dimitri Partapsingh and Akaash Bansraj to expose the middle order. Ishaan Unnithan then tightened the screws with an economical spell of 1 for 11 from six overs, while captain Ajay Prithiviraj cleaned up the tail with 2 for 7 in 2.2 overs. Dave Mohabir also chipped in with 1 for 33.

Presentation College recovered through useful contributions from captain Saleem Khan and Raed Ali-Khan. Saleem struck 34 from 35 balls, hitting four boundaries and a six before being run out, while Ali-Khan top-scored with 44 from 50 deliveries, including eight fours and a six. The pair helped rebuild after the early collapse, but wickets continued to fall at regular intervals.

Sameer Khan added 16, while Kyle Ramesar made 11, although the innings also relied heavily on 30 extras. The final three wickets fell for just one run as NY Tri-State Youth Dev wrapped up the innings with more than 22 overs remaining in the day.
Vir Ajmera (left) and Aarav Chopra combined for a match-defining 103-run opening stand to guide NY Tri-State Youth Dev to a comfortable nine-wicket victory.

Chasing 147, NY Tri-State Youth Dev never allowed the required rate to become an issue. Aarav Chopra and Vir Ajmera put together a century opening partnership worth 103, effectively taking the game away from Presentation College.

Ajmera dominated the scoring with an unbeaten 71 from just 51 balls, striking 10 fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 139.22. Chopra played the supporting role with a composed 37 from 53 deliveries before becoming the only wicket to fall when he was trapped leg before by Aaron Mohammed in the 15th over.

With the target well within reach, wicketkeeper Laksh Warty finished the chase alongside Ajmera, remaining unbeaten on 13 from 12 balls as the pair guided their side home with six overs to spare.

Presentation College struggled to contain the scoring, conceding 28 extras during the chase. Aaron Mohammed claimed the lone wicket, while none of the other bowlers managed a breakthrough as NY Tri-State Youth Dev completed a comprehensive victory.

The win strengthens NY Tri-State Youth Dev's position in the league stage of the Sir Garfield Sobers International Under-19 Cricket Tournament, with the convincing margin providing a valuable boost to their net run rate.
