The Cricket Hall of Fame will mark 45 years of recognizing contributions to cricket when it stages its 45th induction ceremony on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Marriott Hotel in Windsor, Connecticut.

The ceremony will honor 14 inductees in the Class of 2026, with Dennis Heath receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award and Rajeev Puthenveetil of Primrose Cricket Club being presented with the President Award. Una Clarke and Yvette Clarke will receive Certificates of Appreciation.
Here are four members of the Class of 2026 inductees (l-r), Ajith Bhaskar, Hemant Buch, Kinjal Buch and State Rep. Bobby Gibson.

The Cricket Hall of Fame was established under the Sportsmen’s Club in 1980, with its first induction ceremony held in 1981 in Hartford, Connecticut. It describes itself as the world's first Cricket Hall of Fame and operates as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Over 45 years, the organization has recorded 323 heroes, 342 awards, 252 inductees and 73 international inductees. Its honors also include 11 Lifetime Achievement Awards, 179 other inductees and 70 Presidential Awards.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is the Hall's highest honor and is presented to existing Cricket Hall of Famers whose contributions have had a lasting impact on cricket.

Among those who have received the award are Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Michael Holding, Jatin Patel, Roy Reid, Muhammed Qureshi, Ivy Mahabir, Clarence Modeste, Denzil Powell, Lloyd Dixon, Tony Becca and Roy Sweeney.

The Hall's list of honorees includes some of the most prominent figures in international cricket. Australia is represented by Sir Donald Bradman, Kerry Packer, Greg Chappell and Reginald Leslie, while England's inductees include Sir Leonard Hutton, Freddie Trueman, Tony Greig and Brian Close.

India's notable inductees include Sunil Gavaskar, Gundappa Vishwanath, Bhagwat Chandrasekhar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Ajit Wadekar, Farouk Engineer, Chetan Chauhan and Syed Abid Ali. Pakistan's list features Hanif Mohammad, Wasim Akram, Zaheer Abbas, Younis Khan, Mushtaq Mohammad, Moin Khan and Abdul Razzak.

The West Indies contingent includes Sir Garfield Sobers, Michael Holding, Sir Vivian Richards, Sir Andy Roberts, Alvin Kallicharran, Sir Clive Lloyd, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Courtney Walsh, Sir Richie Richardson, Joel Garner, Desmond Haynes, Gordon Greenidge and Sir Hillary Beckles.

The Class of 2026 comprises Mark Azeez, Kumar Balakrishnan, Ajith Bhaskar, Hemant Buch, Kinjal Buch, Leslie L. Clarke Sr., Henry Forde, State Rep. Bobby Gibson, Patrick Hamilton, Howard Johnson, Rick Nugent, Jay Singh (CT), Steve Stephenson and Francis Trevor of Sierra Leone.

The October ceremony continues an annual tradition dating to 1981, when the Hall began formally recognizing individuals for their contributions to the sport. The organization also maintains a museum featuring cricket memorabilia, exhibits and historical accounts.

The 2026 ceremony will extend that tradition into a 45th year, adding a new group of honorees to an institution that has recognized cricket figures from the United States and around the world.
