Gauranshu Sharma, born in 1998 in Delhi, India, is currently a Senior at Hillsborough High school, Hillsborough, NJ, is the youngest player selected for the 2015 ICC Americas Combine Phase 1. He is among 83 other players invited to attend try outs at the Indiana World Sports Complex in Indiana, during September 18–21, with a chance to qualify for ICC Americas Combine Phase 2.
The USA Under-19 national player represented the USA at the ICC Americas U-19 World Cup Qualifier in Bermuda last summer. The USA Global Cricket Academy player Gauranshu Sharma is a technically solid right-hand opening batsman and an accurate right-arm off-spin bowler. He recently completed a month long high-performance training camp through the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, India.
Sharma started playing cricket at the age of 10 and since then has participated in many national and international tournaments, where he got the chance to interact with several legends/coaches including Sunil Gavaskar, Anshuman Gaekwad, (India), Alvin Kallicharan, and Shiv Chanderpaul (West Indies).
At the age of 16, he scored back-to-back centuries on debut in the New York based Metropolitan Cricket League, arguably one of the best leagues in the region.
Some of the player’s recent honors include best bowler, best batsmen, and MVP of Dallas Youth Cricket League – DYCL Under-16 national tournament during 2014, best bowler and MVP of USAGCA Under-19 tour to Guyana 2015, and MVP of the highly reputed Staten Island Under-19 Youth Cricket Festival 2015.
Gauranshu Sharma will join fellow Under-19 player Cean Healy, who is a Napa, CA High School Senior, as well as a Merrion Cricket Club of Dublin, Ireland and Calistoga-based Napa Valley Cricket Club player. More details on Cean Healy can be found at –
