In honor of National Youth Cricket Day on March 24, USYCA is sponsoring its 2nd annual photo contest to celebrate the children playing cricket because of the USYCA Schools Program. Just send in a photo, to which you, your school or organization owns the rights, that depicts the USYCA Schools Program in action. (For entry instructions, see the bottom of this announcement.)

The Grand Prize is a complete American Cricket Champ cricket set; Second Prize is a USYCA polo; third prize is a USYCA stitched cap. Winning photos will be announced on the USYCA website.

There’s no limit on how many photos you can enter, so photograph early, and photograph often!

OK, now here are the things our lawyers say we have to do to hold a proper contest. Read all the way through to be sure you haven’t missed anything.

Photos are accepted by email only to: [email protected]. The deadline for entries is March 19, 2012, 11:59PM, EDT (USA).

When you email your photos to USYCA, copy and paste the text below into the body of your email:

“I hereby grant to United States Youth Cricket Association, Inc. (“USYCA”) a royalty-free, perpetual license to use the photographic images submitted herewith (the “Work”) for any purpose whatsoever. Uses may include, but are not limited to, promotion of USYCA and their projects in any way, including on the web, in print publications, as distributed to the media, and in commercial products. USYCA reserves the right to use/not use any Work as deemed appropriate by USYCA in their sole discretion. No Work will be returned once submitted.

I understand that by submitting this by email, I hereby acknowledge that USYCA shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for protecting my work against third party infringement of my copyright interest or other intellectual property rights or other rights I may hold in such Work, and in no way shall be responsible for any losses I may suffer as a result of any such infringement; and I hereby represent and warrant that my Work does not infringe the rights of any other individual or entity.

In exchange for valuable consideration, I do hereby unconditionally release, hold harmless and indemnify USYCA, their directors, officers, members, employees and volunteers of and from all claims, liabilities and losses arising out of or in connection with my participation in the contest, or USYCA’s use of my Work. This release and indemnification shall be binding upon me, and my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns.”

No email received without this language can be considered for the contest.

Thanks, and good luck!
