After a successful tour of India earlier this year, the USA Global Cricket Academy (USAGCA) is preparing for another international tour — A 10 [March 28 to April 6] day tour of Guyana. The Academy is a registered [501(c)(3)] not for profit organization in United States and Winner of the Best Junior Development Initiative, International Cricket Council (ICC) Global Award in 2003. It also has the recognition of United States Cricket Association (USACA).

The Under 17 and Under 19 teams of this academy went to India during the last Christmas Break. It was 18-day tour on which they played most of their matches in Gujarat. The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) provided them with grounds and infrastructure and helped the young American cricketers to learn new tricks about the game of cricket. Now the youth teams [Under 18, Under 15, Under 13] will tour Guyana where they are scheduled to play six games of 40 to 50 overs each. This tour will be a part of USA national teams’ preparations for ICC World Cup U19 qualifier, which will take place in Bermuda later this year.

Over the years USA Cricket Academy with the vision “BUILDING GREAT CRICKET PROFESSIONALS” has a long and distinguished association with the USA junior Cricket teams like U13 team to Barbados in 2003.  Four Under 18 teams to Trinidad, U15 & U19 teams to Wales. Four U19 teams to the Sir Garfield Sobers Tournament in Barbados. Also an U18 team tour to India and Sri Lanka during 2006.

The 2015 tour of Guyana is in final preparation under highly qualified national coaches. Group of 45 plus official members of USA cricket academy, which includes many elite players and will be joined by six well known and experience coaches in addition to two team management administrators are scheduled to complete entire tour. USAGCA is also allowing the parents to accompany the young kids on this tour.

The Management of the Academy released a combined statement ahead of this tour — “This tour will provide great chance and the best opportunities for our players to play at the best pitches to get International cricket experience. Strong challenge from the most talented local players and teams. Tour will help our elite players to gain more confidence with vital experience as many players have played National, ICC Americas & International cricket. This tour will provide the right platform for all players to become professional and stay on top for the all future cricket events in USA.”
