MMZ won the toss and elected to bat in bright sunshine at the picturesque Riis Park. The MMZ boys posted a solid score of 237 for 8 wickets off their allotted 40 overs,with Azurdeen Mohammed scoring a brilliant 62 which includes 11 fours and 1 six, other good contribution from Bilal Shahid 32, Ajaz Asgarally 25, Rocky Kowchai 19 and Zaaid Majeed 17.

Victory CC was in early trouble when Bilal had Rohit Jaiswal brilliantly caught by Nandkumar at backward point for 4. At the other end Rocky Kowchai was bowling with lots of hostility but without any luck, having nick the edge on a few occasion to see all put down in the slip cordon.

Seventeen year old Amarnath Persaud playing his first year with the MMZ boys replaced Bilal after suffering a slight hamstring; Amarnath bowled an excellent spell with great control and pace to have figures of 8 overs, 2 maiden, 15 runs 5 wickets. Amarnath is one of the under 19 player who was selected to attend the USA under 19 trial. Saumil Gandhi 5-1-14-3 help rout out the opponent.

Victory was bowled out for 75 off 20.2 overs.

MMZ next game is against Bayshore Tigers at Riis Park next Sunday.

Scores were MMZ 327 for 8 off 40 overs and Victory 74 all out off 22.2 overs.
