Bachan vs Rayco
Bachan Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first in their season opener. With only seven players representing Bachan they did rather well scoring 252, their openers S. Ramutar and Singh put on a decent partnership before S. Ramutar was caught for 9 in the 12th over. Singh did go on to play a good inning of 38. These two youngsters represented Port Morant under-17 cricket club in Guyana.
Anil Stanley who scored an undefeated 108.
Anil Stanley was the batsman that started the assault with seven towering sixes and eleven fours to boost the innings. R. Seepaul joined in with two sixes and a couple of fours after being dismissed off the bowling of Dave. With Anil and the new batsman Powan Persaud at the crease and eight overs to go, it was time to see how much they could post without loosing a wicket. Powan and Anil hammered the bowlers in every direction of the ground to boost Bachan to 252.
Anil’s great century of 108 not out was the best batsman of the day and help his team to a decent total, Powan was left on 52 not out after the 30 overs.
In reply Rayco CC did a great job and won this game with two overs to spear. Dave 101 and Jerry 72 secured their team win.
