California Cricket Academy (CCA) announced today that they have been selected by Arjun-Vohra Trust and Tech Mahindra for $3000 in scholarships for their top performers in various age categories for the next four years. The scholarship amount will increase by 10% every year.

For year 2018, following players for each age category were selected:
U10 – Kritin Kothapally ($500)
U12 – Khush Bhalala ($500)
U15 – Rahul Jariwala ($1000)
U17 – Sakthi Karimanal ($1000)

Player’s selection for Scholarship will be based on the performances in the CCA internal games and tournaments, US Competitive Domestic tournaments and international competitive tournaments. To promote more youth games, performance in adult league for players 15 and below will not be counted. However, for 16 to18 category for adult league performance will be counted.

Further, CricClubs will be working with CCA to formulate point system and performance data analysis.

The Academy also emphasizes on character and social contribution by players in their program. As a result, the following additional criteria will also influence the selection process:
– Attendance in physical fitness, classes and team practices
– On and off field comportment
– Manager and Coach Feedback
– Volunteering related to Cricket for CCA supported programs

Top three players nominated on quantitative factors and an independent committee will recommend to the Trust the selected player in the age category.
