Canada have named a 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, as the team prepares to build on its historic debut at the global event. The tournament will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, with Canada aiming to make a strong impression in just their second appearance on cricket’s biggest T20 stage.
The North American side qualified for the upcoming edition in dominant fashion, winning all six of their matches at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Regional Final to finish top of the standings and secure automatic qualification.

Canada made their T20 World Cup debut in 2024, finishing fourth in their group but collecting three valuable points. The campaign included a memorable 12-run victory over Ireland, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s cricketing journey.
Squad: Dilpreet Bajwa (Captain), Ajayveer Hundal, Ansh Patel, Dilon Heyliger, Harsh Thaker, Jaskarandeep Buttar, Kaleem Sana, Kanwarpal Tathgur, Navneet Dhaliwal, Nicholas Kirton, Ravinderpal Singh, Saad Bin Zafar, Shivam Sharma, Shreyas Movva, Yuvraj Samra.
Canada’s qualification campaign was highlighted by outstanding bowling performances, with Shivam Sharma’s off-spin proving particularly effective as he claimed 11 wickets at an economy rate of 7.81. Left-arm pacer Kaleem Sana was equally impressive, picking up 10 wickets at an economy of 7.50. The pair are expected to play key roles on the subcontinental surfaces in India.
With the bat, Canada will lean on the attacking capabilities of Nicholas Kirton, one of the side’s most consistent run-scorers in recent years. He is expected to receive strong support from left-hander Yuvraj Samra, who boasts an impressive strike rate of 160.72, adding firepower to the middle order.
Canada face a challenging start to their World Cup campaign, having been drawn in a competitive opening group alongside South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates. The team will open their tournament against South Africa in Ahmedabad on 9 February 2026.
