Meten-Meer-Zorg won the toss against Enmore CC and decided to bat first in bright sunshine at Riis Park. Azurdeen Mohammed and the young Clifford Hamilton open the batting for the MMZ boys.

Mohammed was severe on the opening bowler Vicky Singh hitting 18 off the first over of the match. Mohammed was batting with lots of aggression hitting the Enmore bowlers to all part of the park. Clifford Hamilton was first to go caught behind for 1.

Andy Mohammed was joined by the experienced Deonauth Baksh who was batting well hitting some fine shots before he was brilliantly caught by Enmore skipper Safraz Ali at short mid wicket.

In came 16 year old Trevis Ross playing against his former team mates. Ross was timing the ball really well driving nicely through the covers on numerous occasions to the boundary; Mohammed and Ross saw the MMZ boys bring up their hundred in the 15th over.

Mohammed brought up his 50 with a spanking cover drive for four, he continued to bat with his usual flamboyant style hitting some glorious shots.

Trevis was next to go, bowled for a well played 31. Zaaid Majeed came in and played some positive cricket shots before he was out for a well played 36. Fiaz Asgarally came in join Mohammed who brings up his hundred with a huge six over backward square. Mohammed was eventually out for a well compiled innings of 130 which includes 12 fours and 6 sixes, with some late hitting by Fiaz Asgarally and Keith Mungalsingh saw MMZ reaching a massive 274 for 9 off 35 overs with Fiaz Asgarally scoring 27 not out.

Enmore started their chase with Skipper Safraz Ali and C. Ramdyal opening the batting. Safraz was batting well not taking any risk just hitting the bad ball to the boundry. MMZ bowlers was bowling with good control picking up wicket at the other end. Azurdeen Mohammed was brilliant with the ball as he did with the bat picking up 3 for 29 off 7 overs.Safraz brings up his hundred with a fine pull shot for four to see Enmore batting out the 35 overs scoring 164 for 6 wkts. Skipper Safraz Ali was left not out on 107.

Safraz Ali hit an unbeaten 107.

Meten-Meer –Zorg finishes on 46 points which put them number two in the EACA final points table. They take on Liberty Cricket Club on Sunday at Baisley Park (cage) in a quarter finals match up.
