Disha Dhingra’s 11-ball 9 provided a steady start, while Gargi Bhogle’s brisk 12 off 11 balls added impetus. However, it was Anika Kolan who stood out with her well-constructed 48 off 60 balls. Her innings formed the backbone of the United States of America’s innings. Sindhu Sriharsha (23 off 22 balls) and Geetika Kodali (20 off 14 balls) also played essential roles in taking their team’s total to a competitive score.

Albertina Galan and Alison Stocks were the pick of the bowlers for Argentina, with Galan claiming 2 wickets for 19 runs in her 4 overs.

In pursuit of a target of 133 runs, the Argentina Women’s team faced a stern challenge from the United States of America’s bowlers. They struggled to build partnerships and lost wickets at regular intervals.

Maria Castineiras was the highest scorer for Argentina with 18 runs off 18 balls. However, wickets kept falling, and the team found it challenging to gain momentum. The United States of America’s bowling unit, led by Aditi Chudasama (2/11) and Geetika Kodali (2/3), put in a disciplined performance, stifling the Argentina Women’s batting lineup.

Ritu Priya Singh (2/14) and Suhani Thadani (2/9) also made crucial contributions with the ball for the United States of America.

The United States of America Women’s team emerged victorious in a convincing fashion, defeating Argentina by 72 runs. Their all-round performance with both bat and ball secured a vital win in the ICC 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier.

Anika Kolan was awarded the “Player of the Match” for her pivotal innings of 48 runs and her crucial contribution to her team’s victory.
