Sunrise all-rounder Derrick Kallicharran slammed his third century (101 retired out) for Sunrise as they compiled 263 all out from 30 overs. Kallicharran batting at number 4, and with scorecard reading 2 for 40, Dave Harbajan and Kallicharran partnership for 110 runs before Harbajan was bowled by David for 49 runs (5×4 and 1×6). Earlier Jit Singh 38 (1×4 & 4×6) and Shri Harbajan 3 fell to medium pacer Ricky.

Both Kallicharran and D. Harbajan were given chances as at least two catching chances were put down. The diminutive left hander went onto crack a quick fire 101 retired out, which was laced with 11 sixes and 3 boundaries in his belligerent knock.

With the score at 200 for 4 from 25 overs, Sunrise’s batsman V. Chin 21, Chille Gomes and DeSilva 12 each, while Josh Harbajan and Chris Arthur 8 and 4 respectively, saw Sunrise‘s scoreboard reached 263 in their allotted 30 overs.

Bowling for Brampton Trinity left arm medium pacer Ricky 6 overs, 18 runs, 2 wickets. F. Jhon 2 for 23 from 3 overs while Dosing 1 for 51.

In reply, Brampton Trinity chipped away at Sunrise total only reaching 173 for 4 when the overs ran out. All-rounder D. Singh hit a quick fire 63 (7×4 and 3×6), he was supported by R. Sundar 26 (4×6). Other contributors were Resurging 17, S. Muhammad 14 and Mr. Extras 22 (17 wides).

Although he did not make a big score, it was the batting of R. Surin, 15 years old, that caught the eyes of all in attendance. Young Surin batting through the innings and at the same time showing mental toughness with an appetite for batting long. “Impressive,” said, D. Singh, captain of Brampton.

Bowling for Sunrise Sri Lankan pacer E. Desilva 2 for 15, Chin, Anil Singh and D. Harbajan 1 wicket each. .

After the game, Anil Singh 12 years old took the bowling award, R. Surin 15 years old, was awarded the batting trophy.

Sunrise also presented an appreciation award to Anthony “Skippy” Koomar. Skippy a long time promoter of Brampton cricket was involved in partnership and building this friendly relationship with Sunrise. A relationship that started in the early 90’s.
