Eight A Side T20 Cricket Arrives In New York

Last Man Stands Global is extremely excited to announce the launch of Last Man Stands in the New York! Leagues will run from 24th June through to the 12th August.

Last Man Stands is the widest reaching amateur cricket league in the world with over 2000 teams playing the format globally. The format is T20, 8-a-side and games last around 2 hours.

LMS is played by the normal laws of cricket but with a few extra rules to make the game more inclusive and exciting:
Batsman retire at 50 but can come back in if the other wickets are lost.
When the seventh wicket falls the last man stands and bats alone but can only score 2s, 4s and 6s.
Five ball overs with a maximum of 6 balls per over for overs 1 to 19. The first wide is 1 and and extra ball. After that all wides/no balls are 3 runs. In the final over 5 legitimate balls must be bowled.
If a player hits the Last ball of the innings for 6 it is worth 12 – referred to as a HOME RUN
Four overs per bowler
There’s a double play whereby if the batsman is caught then the non-striker can also be run out.
Every player receives a World Batting Ranking and World Bowling Ranking on the LMS Website.
Every team receives a global Team World Ranking

Team spaces for each league are limited and Registration fees will need to be paid before the 20th of June 2015 to secure a spot in a league. There are a few spaces for individual players to register, as we have two teams looking for extra players for the league.

What is provided?
The Registration Fee is $360 per team and this includes the following:
Registration and IT fees
Insurance cover for the whole team
8 LMS team shirts from www.mylmskit.com (additional kit can be purchased as required)

Match fee are $120 per team per game and covers the following
Field hire
LMS trained umpire
New ball for every game
League management
Capturing of stats on the Global LMS worldwide website
Every Team gets a TEAM WORLD RANKING (updated weekly)
Every Player receives league, regional, country and Global BATTING and BOWLING RANKING (updated weekly)
The top 2 teams from each league will qualify for the American Champions League
The American Champions of 2015 will receive a Travel Voucher valued at $8,000

New York League Structure
The league will be played a round robin format.
Each team will play 7 league games.
The top four teams will then play in the semi finals, and the respective winners will meet in the final.
The top team in New York with qualify for the USA Champions League in early December.
The American Champions League will be an 8 team event and will take place over 2 days. Teams will be split up into 2 groups of 4. Each team will play 3 group stage games with the top team from each group playing in the final.
The team that wins the final will be crowned 2015 LMS American Champions and will be invited to represent the USA at the next LMS World Championship in 2017.
The American Champions will be rewarded with a LMS Travel Voucher Valued at $8,000.
