Eon Ellis And Vijay Seenarine To Lead New York Dream Team

The New York Dream team will be heading to Florida looking to recapture the Florida Cup after a disappointing loss in the semi-finals last year. The Dream Team has regrouped and has joined forces with Guyana Allstars to form a very talented team to compete in the tournament which will be held on March 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
The team will be led by Eon Ellis and Vijay Seenarine. Ellis and Seenarine will have the pleasure of setting a batting line up consisting of many talented players including the two aggressive Singh brothers, Amar and Anand, Kaleem Bux the 2010 Cricketer of the year, three of the top all rounders in New York, two time Cricketer of the year Bobby Pahalad, 2011 Division 1 MVP Brian Manniram, Amit Moonsammy, Karan Ganesh, and one of the best softball players New York has ever seen Ravi Persaud along with the hard hitting Frankie Baichoo.
The bowling attack will be led by the the Pahalad brothers, Bobby and Bhola followed by Karan Ganesh, Amit Moonsammy, Siddiq Kayoon, Ravi Mohan and Frankie Baichoo. Sunil Pahalad and Jay Ram will be the managers of the team.The team is very upbeat about the tournament and look forward to the stiff competition ahead of them this coming March.
It won’t be easy to recapture the title because the competition, it is said to be one of the toughest since the tournament came about 7 years ago. The New York Softball Cricket League will be looking to defend its title and will be taking a very strong team consisting of many stars from the league, the Canadian league will also be sending a strong team, Orlando and Ocala will also be going there with full strength and of course the host is said to be one of the favorites this year after knocking on the door for many years. The tournament is almost here and the hype is building up to make this tournament one of the most talked about for a while.
The team will be without one of its founding members and long time Captain Navin Narine, who is mourning the loss of his father. The team will be dedicating the tournament to Navin since this will be the first time he will miss the Florida Cup. They will also be without the pacer Shawn “Gaza” Persaud who cannot make the trip due to the birth of his daughter, congratulations going out to Shawn. The Dream Team will be looking forward to having these two guys back for the upcoming Independence Cup in July. Good luck to all the teams in Florida and see everyone there. Let the games begin!
