It won’t be easy to recapture the title because the competition, it is said to be one of the toughest since the tournament came about 7 years ago. The New York Softball Cricket League will be looking to defend its title and will be taking a very strong team consisting of many stars from the league, the Canadian league will also be sending a strong team, Orlando and Ocala will also be going there with full strength and of course the host is said to be one of the favorites this year after knocking on the door for many years. The tournament is almost here and the hype is building up to make this tournament one of the most talked about for a while.

The team will be without one of its founding members and long time Captain Navin Narine, who is mourning the loss of his father. The team will be dedicating the tournament to Navin since this will be the first time he will miss the Florida Cup. They will also be without the pacer Shawn “Gaza” Persaud who cannot make the trip due to the birth of his daughter, congratulations going out to Shawn. The Dream Team will be looking forward to having these two guys back for the upcoming Independence Cup in July. Good luck to all the teams in Florida and see everyone there. Let the games begin!
