Congratulations to Friends United after winning the Bangladesh Cricketers’ Alliance of North America (BCANA) T20 Championship, and Brooklyn Lycans for finishing as the Runners Up. The five weeks tournament came to a fitting end when the two undefeated teams met in the final encounter. There was a large group of spectators present to back their teams in the heated contest.

After winning the crucial toss, Friends United made a very steady start with the bat. They maintained a healthy run rate throughout most of the game despite wickets falling at regular intervals. The star performer Mohammed Kashem continued his supreme form with a valuable 32 (30) at the top, while a game changing knock from Mokadder Khondakar of 38* (20) in the closing overs shifted the momentum towards the boys in blue at the end of first innings when they finished at 148/5 after 20 overs.

In response, the Brooklyn Lycans innings took a huge blow when they lost two early wickets in a fiery opening spell from Kashem. Lycans’ in-form batsman Imamol Hasan led the fight back with a hard earned 85*(69) in a valiant effort where the required rate was always getting out of reach.

With minimal support from the other end, United bowlers seized the opportunity to squeeze the innings to limit them for 126/2 in 20 overs – confirming a much deserved victory of 22 runs for Friends United.

The star boy Mohammed Kashem of Friends United was the Man of the Final for his valuable 32 (30) and 2 vital wickets. Brooklyn Lycans’ skipper Imamol Hasan was announced the Most Valuable Player as well as the Best Batsman for accumulating 263 runs and claiming 6 wickets. Tanvir Ahmed Sami of Brooklyn Lycans was the Best Bowler for picking up 11 wickets. Tareq Manower from the same team received the Best Fielder of the final, while Mokadder Khondakar from United took home the Game Changer award.
