Gill’s 102, Parsad’s 4/37 Power USA U19 to Dominant Victory Against Bermuda
On Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, at the Param Veers Sports Complex (Ground 1), USA Under-19 delivered a dominant all-round performance to overpower Bermuda Under-19 in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Americas Qualifier. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, the USA U19 side set a daunting total before their bowlers dismantled the Bermudian batting order for a comprehensive victory.
Opening the innings, Amrinder Gill and Sahil Garg set the tone for USA’s batting effort. Gill’s disciplined 102 off 122 balls, laced with 10 boundaries, was the backbone of the innings. His patience at the crease provided the stability needed for others to play more freely. At the other end, Garg scored a fluent 70 from 68 deliveries, striking six fours and three sixes at a brisk strike rate of 102.94. The pair added 135 runs for the opening stand, frustrating the Bermuda bowlers and capitalizing on scoring opportunities.

The middle order saw a brief stumble with quick dismissals of Utkarsh Srivastava (4), Adnit Jhamb (2), and captain-wicketkeeper Arjun Mahesh (9). However, Saharsh Shwethan injected momentum with a lively 69 off 58 balls, striking three fours and two sixes at a healthy 118.96 strike rate. Contributions from the lower order ensured USA reached 310/9 in their allotted 50 overs, at a run rate of 6.20. Bermuda’s Keegan Jones (2/52) and Isaiah O’Brien (2/59) were the most successful bowlers, while Callum MacFarlane (1/46) maintained an economical spell.
In reply, Bermuda’s chase never found stability. The USA bowlers struck early and often, dismantling the top order within the first 10 overs. Callum MacFarlane’s stubborn 22 from 53 balls was the only top-order resistance. Sa-Qui Robinson’s attacking 34 off 42 balls, which included four sixes, provided a glimmer of hope, but wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals.
Sabrish Parsad was the standout performer with the ball, claiming 4/37 in his 10 overs, including two stumpings off Mahesh’s sharp glove work. Adit Kappa’s 3/34 applied pressure through the middle overs, while Sahir Bhatia’s 2/9 from 6.2 overs choked the tail. Shiv Shani chipped in with 1/15. Bermuda were eventually bundled out for 106 in 32.2 overs, falling short by a massive 204 runs.

The emphatic win underscored USA U19’s batting depth, led by Gill’s century, and their bowling discipline, spearheaded by Parsad. The result keeps their qualification hopes strong and sends a clear message to their competitors about their balanced strength in both departments.
