USA Indoor Cricket
Indoor cricket has arrived in the USA with the inaugural tournament billed for November 8 and 9 in Freeport, Long Island, NY with the top prize of $1000 to the winning team.

Cricket players and fans alike, can now play and enjoy the game they love so much in warmth and comfort during the harsh winter season.  USA Indoor Cricket, a new cricket organization with a grand plan to bring the excitement and competition of Indoor Cricket to every city in the USA.

Tournament Organizer, Mr. Salim Nausrudeen, assures “Whether you are a seasoned player or an amateur, USA Indoor Cricket has a place for you – bring your bat and gears – we have the wickets, balls and a whole lot of competition and excitement.”

Some highlights of the tournament include:
• Each team plays 2 matches, 8 teams advance to finals
• 8 players per side
• 24 overs per game, 12 per side
• Everyone must bowl
• Everyone bats in pairs for 3 overs
• Balls used are Heavy Tennis Ball

Indoor cricket is played at professional and amateur levels in many countries across the cricket world.  In the USA it has been done intermittently with no attempt to organize it at a higher level.  Indoor cricket while similar in many ways as we know it is equally different in the rules and scoring options.  The rules and ways of scoring has been altered to make the game fast, action packed and exciting.
