John Adams’ Randall Wilson To Debut For USA

Prolific All-Rounder Randall Wilson of John Adams High School was short listed to represent the United States of America U-15 team during the ICC Americas Under-15 Northern Division Tournament, to be held from August 21st to 26th in Winnipeg, Canada.  The participating countries are Bermuda, Canada, and the USA, with the teams playing a 40-overs format in a double round-robin schedule.

Wilson is coming off an outstanding performance during the recent concluded 2011 USACA U-15 Nationals after registering 105 against the Directors’ XI, 56 not out against Central East, and 110 against North West in the finals.  Last year during the U-15 Nationals, Wilson finished with the highest batting average of 119.5 which included an unbeaten century, half-century, and the highest individual score of 163.  Furthermore, Randall blasted 91 runs for the New York Cricket Academy after they defeated Incredible XI by 140 runs at Baisley South Cricket Ground.

PSAL Cricket Commissioner Basset Thompson and Ricky Kissoon stated that “Randall is a well disciplined young man that has a lot of talent who is capable of playing at a very high level”.

Ricky Kissoon stated all PSAL cricketers involved in New York regional cricketing activities will be under watchful eyes for certain individuals that may have a negative influence on their young cricketing careers.  PSAL is very content that Wilson was selected to represent the USA U15 team based on his outstanding performance during the U15 Nationals.

Wilson currently represents the New York Cricket Academy which is coached by Mr. Kissoon and Mr. Rudy John.  Mr. Kissoon coached Wilson last year during the USACA U15 Nationals, but was not considered this year for the coaching responsibility.  “I am very pleased that Wilson has excelled and take on the responsibility as the leader of the NYCR U15 team” stated Kissoon.

At fifteen years old the young man has scored three centuries thus far since playing competitive cricket in New York, and the best is yet to come.  It’s very special when you have someone at such a young age producing centuries.  Many cricketers compete for years and are yet to reach this milestone achievement.  PSAL, its staff and the New York Cricket Region must be commended for giving Randall the grand opportunity to showcase his cricketing talent.
