In a Pacific Conference Minor League Cricket Twenty20 tournament which was played at the Prairie View Cricket Complex on Aug. 12th, the Dallas Xforia Giants faced the Houston Hurricanes in an exciting encounter.

The Giants batted first and scored a total of 165 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, achieving a run rate of 8.25. The top contributors for the Giants were Rehman Dar with an unbeaten 42 off 31 balls and Udaybirsingh Walia who blasted 44 runs off just 19 balls.

However, the Giants faced steady fall of wickets, with key players such as Smit Patel (17), Aakarshit Gomel (13), Chaitanya Bishnoi (14), and Rameez Raja (12) making contributions but unable to capitalize on their starts. The team managed to accumulate 17 extras, which included 8 wides, 2 no-balls, and 7 leg byes.

In response to the Giants’ total, the Houston Hurricanes showcased their batting prowess and chased down the target with ease, achieving a total of 167/2 in just 15.3 overs. Joshua Tromp was the standout performer for the Hurricanes with an unbeaten 78 runs off 38 balls, while Mukhtar Ahmed contributed 34 runs and Saif Badar added an unbeaten 37 runs.

The Hurricanes displayed solid partnerships and aggressive batting, with a run rate of 10.77 per over. The team benefited from 9 extras, all wides, to help them reach their target comfortably.
