Panthers maintained their perfect record so far when they defeated Wanderers at Marine Park on June 17th. Panther’s victory coupled with Middlesex losing to Travel Treat allowed Panthers to ascend to number one on the standings. Middlesex fell to third following their defeat as Travel Treat move up to second. Sheffield hold fourth despite inactivity as Cavaliers jumped to fifth following a victory over the lowly Diplomats. Imperial are sixth they too enjoyed the weekend off.  Diplomats, Wanderers and Queensbury complete the standings all with a solitary win each.

This weekend Sheffield will attempt to blemish the Panthers and their flawless run, when they meet on Saturday, June 23rd. Other matches on Saturday see Queensbury entertain Cavaliers and Imperial tackle Travel Treat.  Sheffield continues the quest for glory on Sunday when the face Queensbury as Panthers play Cavaliers. Diplomats search for a life line when they meet Travel Treat as Wanderers look for a repeat in fortune against Imperial, their sole victory to date.

Middlesex vs Travel Treat
On 6/17, Middlesex vs Travel Treat at Marine Park B, Middlesex claim the toss and took first strike. Mark Audain and Freddie Roopchand opened the innings and put up a good opening stand of 55 runs. Freddie Roopchand was the fist to go, LBW to Imran Aslam for a business like 25; Joseph Ledwridge came and went for 12 runs. Mark Audain was the next to go for a well played 34, (4x4s and 1 x 6). Middlesex suffer a middle order collapse, losing Lester Benn for 01, Treldon Macmillan for 01. Captain Andre Kirton and Rod Michael consolidated the innings, to take Middlesex to a respectable score, Rod Michael was the next to go for 12 runs, Dominic Audain was run out without facing a ball for a duck.

Captain Andre Kirton was the next to go for a well played 62 (4 x 4 and 1 x 6), Kavir Singh was adjudge LBW to Zafar Iqbal for 02, and Alston Bacchus was not out on 5. Middlesex 179 all out from 34 overs, bowling for Travel Treat, school boy off spinner Hamza 8/1/30/3, under 19 off spinner Zohaib 8/1/25/2, the experience Zafar Iqbal 7/0/33/2 and Imran Aslam 6/0/35/1. Travel Treat made easy work of the Middlesex total, thanks to some big hitting during the first 8 overs of power play, by openers Abdullah Syed and Umer Farrouqe. Abdullah Syed was dropped from the first ball off the bowling of Dominic Audain, he made Middlesex paid for their mistake, he spank the same bowler for 2 magnificent 4s in the same over, then it was Umer Farroque turn, he took 11 each off Captain Andre Kirton first two overs.

It was some great hitting by the two youngsters, Umer Farroque was the first to go bowled by off spinner Treldon Macmillan for a whirlwin 59 (3 x 4s and 6 x 6s), Abdullah Syed followed for a well played 38 (6 x 4s and 1 x 6) caught on the boundary off Treldon Macmillan bowling, Zafar Iqbal polished off the inning with some lusty hitting, finishing on 54 not out (4 x 4s and 3 x 6s), youngster Tariq Zohaid was unbeaten on 18, bowling for Middlesex, Treldon Macmillan 4/0/34/2, Andre Kirton 5/0/35/1, Dominic Audain 2.3/0/23/0, Mark Audain 5/0/35/0, Joseph Ledwridge 3/0/39/0, and Kavir Singh 1/0/9/0.
Travel Treat winning by 7 wickets.
