LOS ANGELES, CA — March 19, 2026 – Major League Cricket (MLC) today announced that it will bring top-level professional cricket to the Los Angeles region for the first time this summer, with five days of matches scheduled at the Knight Riders Cricket Field, Fairplex Pomona, California from July 1–5.
This historic moment marks the league’s first-ever matches in the Los Angeles market and will take place at the site that is planned to host cricket during the 2028 Summer Olympics, where the sport will return to the Olympic program after more than a century.

The opening match on July 1 will feature the hometown Los Angeles Knight Riders taking on the Washington Freedom, kicking off an exciting week of world-class T20 cricket featuring many of the sport’s top international stars. Fans will also be able to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with games on July 4.
“Bringing Major League Cricket to Los Angeles is a huge milestone for our league and for the growth of cricket across the United States,” said Johnny Grave, CEO of MLC. “The Pomona Fairgrounds will be the future home of Olympic cricket in 2028, and we’re thrilled to give fans in Southern California their first taste of the sport at this iconic venue.”
These matches in Los Angeles will showcase MLC’s fast-paced T20 format and feature all six teams in the league competing across multiple matches, giving fans the opportunity to experience professional cricket in the lead-up to the sport’s historic return to the Olympic stage.
Speaking about this development, Mr. Shah Rukh Khan, co-owner of the Knight Riders, said, “Over the years, the Knight Riders have grown into a truly global family, and every new milestone is special for us. Seeing the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) have a home of their own with the Knight Riders Cricket is incredibly exciting. The USA is a great sporting market with passionate fans, and we hope this field becomes a place where people come together to celebrate the game and support the team. I’m really looking forward to this new chapter for the Knight Riders in Los Angeles.”
Los Angeles is one of the most diverse sporting markets in the world and home to one of the largest cricket fan bases in the United States. Hosting matches at the Pomona Fairgrounds represents a significant step in establishing Southern California as a major hub for the sport ahead of the LA28 Games.
Additional details on match schedules, ticket sales and fan experiences will be announced soon.
