The Birth Of The USACC

Within the past 48 hours I have received over 39 phone calls from various parts of the USA. The gist of the calls was that it was time for the USACA to “go”. Most of my callers are of the opinion that in view of the latest USACA Board declaration that only 15 leagues are eligible to vote in the coming elections, the remaining 32 leagues, which have their franchise voting rights taken away, should get together and form an alternate cricket body to  represent cricket in this country.

They reasoned that once a case is presented to the ICC, that body would have to give serious thought as to which of the two cricket bodies in the USA best represent the majority of the leagues. With the “bad” vibes that the present USACA Board is sending ICC with its erratic, dysfunctional and poor governance, and with USACA now representing a minority of leagues, some substantial action would be taken by the ICC.

I spoke at length with my callers. I felt that it is time for the birth of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CRICKET COUNCIL (USACC) or some similar named body representing cricket at the international level. But to get our cricket back on track, we, the cricket holders must fight a unified battle. The people we elected to administer our cricket have earned an “F” grade, and you know what, I think they are proud of it.
