USA captain Sushil Nadkarni led his side to a fine 34 runs victory in a play-off match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

USA batting first posted 193=5 in its 20 overs and then restricted Bermuda to 159-8 in its allotted 20 overs.

Nadkarni’s 48 was well backed up by Orlando Baker (39) and Steven Taylor (38). Sam Robinson was the most impressive Bermuda bowler.

In its chase, Bermuda was never in the reckoning despite number three Lionel Cann (73: 47b, 4×4, 3×6). Bermuda lost wickets at regular intervals.

In the end, USA bowlers led by Muhammad Ghous (2-20), Abhimanyu Rajp (2-30) and Elmore Hutchinson (2-33) kept Bermuda in check.

Nadkarni’s efforts won him the Man of the Match.
