United States of America (USA) pacer Ali Khan known for his yorkers took apart Jersey batting line-up. He has joined the likes of Shahid Afridi, Glenn McGrath, Rashid Khan, Trent Boult and Waqar Younis to name a few who has taken a seven wicket haul in international cricket.

USA beat Jersey by 25 runs in their final match of the Qualifiers World Cup 50-overs tournament in Namibia on Tuesday.

The win takes them to the top of the points table in the six-team competition which is slated to conclude on Wednesday.

USA have now recorded four wins out of their stipulated five matches and sit with 8 points follow by Namibia on 6.

USA proved a more dominant unit against Jersey who won the toss and invited the Americans to take first strike.

USA rattled up a sufficient 231 all out off the 50-overs while Jersey replied with 206 all out in the 48th over.

Prolific opener Steven Taylor led the way for USA with an impressive 100-ball 79 laced with six fours and three sixes while Gajanand Singh supported well with 41.

But it was fast-bowler Ali Khan who made history by snapping up seven wickets to inspire the victory.

On a responsive pitch, Khan conceded 32 runs from 9.4 probing overs. He got support from left-arm orthodox spinner Nisarg Patel with 2-42 from ten overs.

The other participating teams are: Canada, Papua New Guinea and United Aram Emirates.

Meanwhile, the next Qualifiers tournament is billed for July/August in Zimbabwe. This is a continuing Qualification Pathway for this year’s World Cup to be staged in India October/November.

In Namibia, the top two teams will travel to Zimbabwe.
