The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier match between the United States of America Women and Argentina Women took place on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at St Albans Club, Corimayo. USA won the toss and elected to field first, looking to restrict Argentina’s batting lineup to a low total and chase it comfortably.

Argentina Women struggled from the outset as USA’s disciplined bowling attack kept them under pressure. Albertina Galan was the first to fall, managing just 1 run before being caught behind off Aditiba Chudasama’s bowling. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, with Malena Lollo (2) being run out, and Maria Castiñeiras departing for a duck. The only batter to show some resistance was Argentina’s captain, Alison Stocks, who managed a patient 16 off 46 balls. However, the lack of support from the other batters meant Argentina found themselves in deep trouble throughout the innings.

Aditi Chudasama
Aditiba Chudasama continues to dominate with the ball, picking up 4 for 11 against Argentina.

Lucia Taylor contributed 14 off 18 balls, while Tamara Basile showed some aggression with a 13-run knock off 13 balls. However, three crucial run-outs further dented Argentina’s chances of putting up a competitive total. They eventually crawled to 63/9 in their 20 overs, struggling against USA’s tight bowling and sharp fielding.

The standout performer with the ball was Aditiba Chudasama, who delivered a match-winning spell of 4 wickets for just 11 runs in her 4-over quota. She was well supported by Ritu Singh (1/3), Chetnaa Prasad (1/7), and economical spells from Tara Norris (0/10) and Saanvi Immadi (0/11). USA’s exceptional fielding effort resulted in three run-outs, further limiting Argentina’s scoring opportunities.

Chasing a modest target of 64 runs, the USA Women’s team started with intent. Opener Disha Dhingra scored 9 off 13 balls before being run out by Castiñeiras and wicketkeeper Lollo. Despite the early loss, Chetna Pagydyala steadied the innings with a composed 22 off 26 deliveries, ensuring there were no major hiccups in the chase.

Ella Claridge played a brief but aggressive cameo, scoring 5 off just 3 balls before being bowled by Albertina Galan. However, captain Anika Kolan took charge of the chase, smashing an unbeaten 19 off 14 balls, including a boundary, to steer USA to victory in just 9 overs. Extras played a small role in easing the chase, contributing 9 runs.

Argentina’s bowlers found little success, with Albertina Galan taking the only wicket for 22 runs in her 4 overs. Other bowlers, including Constanza Sosa, Lucia Taylor, Alison Stocks, and Mariana Martinez, were unable to apply enough pressure to defend the low total.

With a commanding 8-wicket victory, USA continued their dominant run in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier. Aditiba Chudasama’s outstanding bowling performance earned her the Player of the Match award. The USA Women’s team will look to carry this momentum forward as they aim for qualification in the prestigious ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
