The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a series of governance reforms, membership decisions and financial support measures following the conclusion of its Annual Meetings in Edinburgh, including the admission of Mauritius as its 111th member and the creation of two new Board sub-committees.

Among the key outcomes was the establishment of a Governance Review Committee and a Franchise Leagues Committee, both aimed at strengthening oversight of the global game.

The Governance Review Committee will be chaired by Devajit Saikia of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The committee also includes Dr Mohammed Moosajee of Cricket South Africa and ICC Independent Director Dr Ros Rivaz.

The newly formed Franchise Leagues Committee will be chaired by Bangladesh Cricket Board representative Tamim Iqbal. Its members include Dr Rudie van Vuuren of Cricket Namibia, Devajit Saikia (BCCI), Richard Gould of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Todd Greenberg of Cricket Australia.

The Board also approved Mauritius as the ICC's 111th member, further expanding the governing body's global membership. The decision adds another associate nation to the ICC and reflects the continued growth of cricket in emerging regions.

In a financial support measure, the ICC Board approved a loan of USD 12.82 million to Cricket West Indies to assist the regional governing body.

The Board also addressed several membership matters involving existing member nations.

Cricket Canada remains suspended from ICC membership after the Board approved a set of reinstatement conditions that must be fulfilled before the suspension can be lifted. The ICC said the suspension will remain in place until those requirements have been fully satisfied.

The Board also received an update on Sri Lanka Cricket, noting progress toward the development of a revised constitution. While acknowledging those developments, the ICC reiterated that elections should be held as soon as possible. Sri Lanka Cricket will continue to be ineligible for representation at ICC Board meetings until further notice.

In Bangladesh, the Board formally recognised the appointment of the newly elected President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board as the country's Full Member Director on the ICC Board.

Meanwhile, the ICC Annual General Meeting agreed to place France Cricket "On Notice" for breaches of the ICC Membership Criteria, signalling that the governing body will continue to monitor the organisation's compliance with its membership obligations.

The decisions concluded another round of annual governance meetings in which the ICC Board reviewed membership, administration and structural matters affecting the global game. Alongside the previously announced changes to ICC event formats, the latest measures are intended to strengthen governance, support member boards and reinforce accountability across the organization.

The outcomes will shape the ICC's governance framework in the coming years while expanding its membership and providing oversight of franchise cricket, member compliance and administrative reforms ahead of future Board meetings.
