USA opened their ICC U19 Women’s World Cup Americas Qualifier campaign with a commanding 112-run victory over Argentina at Jimmy Powell Cricket Oval, after posting 180 for 5 and bowling Argentina out for 68 in 18.1 overs.

Sainavi Kambalapalli was central to the result, contributing 35 off 24 balls before taking five wickets for 10 runs from three overs. Her performance earned her Player of the Match honors.

USA, who won the toss and were asked to bat, made a steady start before accelerating through the middle and final overs. Kambalapalli and captain Chetna Pagydyala put on 63 for the first wicket, with the partnership ending when Kambalapalli was caught and bowled by Maria Victoria Lehmann at 63 in the 5.5th over.

Pagydyala continued to anchor the innings, scoring 42 from 38 balls with five fours. She added 66 for the second wicket with Anannya Aneesh, taking USA to 129 before Aneesh was dismissed for 23 off 20 by Rocio Roquel Bartellini.

Pagydyala fell two balls later at 130, also to Rocio, who finished with three wickets for 17 runs from her four overs. Mahek Desai then contributed a brisk 18 from 19 balls, including a six, before being dismissed at 159.

Pooja Ganesh remained unbeaten on 25 from 23 balls, while Hashini Karthikeyan struck 5 from two deliveries before being run out at 174 in the 19.4th over. USA added 32 extras, including 22 wides and six no-balls, to finish on 180 for 5.

Argentina's chase never developed momentum. Lehmann and Daria Maria Mastrangelo initially resisted, putting together 44 before Mastrangelo was stumped for 21 off 31 balls. The dismissal triggered a collapse, with Argentina losing five wickets for just seven runs between 44 and 51.

Kambalapalli then took control. She removed Julia Santos, captain Milagros Bestani, Julia Andujar and Milagros Garcia Hagen in a spell that reduced Argentina to 55 for 7. Desai also claimed three wickets for six runs from four overs, while Saanvi Immadi took one for eight.

Ana Dei Castelli was left unbeaten on 10 from 16 balls, but Argentina were eventually restricted to 68 for 9. USA's disciplined bowling and Argentina's inability to build partnerships ensured there was little prospect of a successful chase.

The 112-run victory gives USA an emphatic start to their Americas Qualifier campaign and a substantial boost to their net run rate. With the tournament standings still to be determined by the remaining results, USA will look to carry the momentum into their next fixture.
